Puppy Warrantee

Congratulations on the purchase of your new puppy/dog, great care has been taken to provide you with a well-adjusted & healthy puppy. The puppy will have had its first shots and will have been wormed if needed prior to its trip to your home. You the new owner have 48 hours in which to have your puppy examined by a veterinarian of your choice for a health check up. If this pup fails for any reason other than needing re-worming notice must be give within 2 days of your vet appointment and a full refund, or replacement will be made. If no pups are available from the existing litter one will be made available to you from the next litter. (Normally, within 6 months) A veterinary statement of the existing condition MUST accompany all claims. Any problems beyond the first 48 hours are not covered as they are beyond our control. Cash refunds will be made for the first 4 days after sale of the puppy/dog only. All refunds will be for the original purchase price* of the puppy/dog only. (Subject to our own veterinarians examination)

This puppy is warranted against the following hereditary defects, hip dysplasia, epilepsy, PRA eye disease, or congenital heart defects. A the age of 2 years an x-ray may be done by your veterinarian for OFA certification, having your pet declared free of hip dysplasia. In the event your dog fails to obtain an OFA number we reserve the right to re-x-ray the dog. If he/she then passes the expense of the new x-ray will be the owners. If the dog again fails the cost will be at the breeders expense. Replacement will be made at the earliest convenience of the breeder (usually within 6 months) we do not warrantee a dog when x-rays have not been submitted to OFA or PennHip for their evaluation on dogs deemed to have dysplasia by the owner only.

The breeder will replace the dog with one of equal or better quality, UPON RETURN OF THE DOG TO THE BREEDER. Or when the proof of spaying/neutering has been provided on show prospects, along with a copy of the test results showing a genetic condition exists. In the event of genetic disease/conditions a report from a lab such as Cornell or Angel is expected. NO replacement will be made if all of the above conditions are not met. Hip and other problems due to INJURY, ABUSE or NEGLECT are not covered. Dogs who have not have yearly veterinary health care & exams are NOT covered.

We strive to breed the best quality dogs for field, conformation and companionship. I have been a member of the American Brittany Club sine 1978, and am in good standing with the American Kennel Club. As a member of the American Brittany Club I am bound by a code of ethics as a breeder to use only health tested clear breeding stock.

Over the years we have had much success with our dogs in all venues of competition. Our dogs are all OFA, or PennHip certified, and also have been micro-chipped and their DNA profiles are on file with AKC. We have given this pup the best possible start the rest is up to you the new owner. The pup should be fed good quality feed, have regular visits to the veterinarian, and be given heartworm preventative.

Failure by the purchaser to meet the time/age requirements negates this warrantee Replacement will be made to the FIRST buyer of the puppy/dog only. Any resale with out the breeder’s prior knowledge & consent negates this warrantee. Breeder retains the first right of refusal on this dog should you elect or not be able to keep it. In this instance the original purchase price will be paid LESS any veterinary services needed upon return for routine care that was not seen to by the buyer. If for any reason you cannot keep your pet contact us first. We will always be a home for puppies/dogs we breed and will provide for them until a new appropriate home can be found.

* Cash refunds will be made within 30 days of return of the dog to the breeder, and only after the dog has been health checked by our veterinarian and any needed services are rendered. Fees for those services will be deducted from the refund of the original purchase price.

If this puppy is being sold to you as a pet/hunting companion as such the AKC registration status on this puppy/dog will be one of “limited” registration. We insist ALL pet puppy/dogs are neutered and or spayed by 1 year of age. This dog may not be bred, and the AKC will not register its get. This may not be done without our approval, and our lifting of the limited status.
